Bad Homburg is the district town of the Hesse. Bad Homburg is part of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main urban area.
Presently, Bad Homburg is again one of the wealthiest towns in Germany. With the beginning of the spa industry in the town during the mid-19th century, which profited greatly from its casino which is called “mother of Monte Carlo”, the town became an internationally famous spa town.
Total population of Bad Homburg is 54,248 whereas Frankfurt in total counted 744,100 inhabitants by mid-2018. The population looks set to grow further in the coming years. According to the city’s latest official figures, c. 46,000 residential units were urgently needed in 2019. Brexit was a positive demand shock for Frankfurt and its surrounding towns.
